Our school is a state high school set in a semi-rural area 17 miles from Florence, in the northern part of Tuscany, Italy. Being the major high school of the area it is also well connected to the local community by providing tuition and counselling to an increasing number of people in the area. After drawing inspiration from the long standing tradition of international projects, videoconferences and school exchanges,  we decided also to open up to broader partnerships with schools and local authorities overseas. Giotto Ulivi with its 3 state-of-the-art language laboratories and highly qualified staff is the ideal educational institution for providing cost-effective intensive courses of Italian language and culture. We don't board students directly but can accommodate them in selected Italian families or in the many farm holiday resorts dotting the Tuscan countryside around the school. Partnerships can be also of a traditional level involving class exchanges during the Summer or during the school year. Schools overseas with standard ISDN videoconferencing equipment could contact us to arrange a videoconference meeting to plan activities more effectively.
